Being in the middle of my optometry career (15 years out of school and not close to retirement), a crossroads moment occurred where it was buy out my soon-to-retire partner or find another option. For me, while I truly enjoy patient care, the aspect of running the entire business side of things as well was not appealing. After being approached by many private equity firms and the like and not being impressed, we had conversations with the leadership group with OMG. The plans they outlined, the answers to my questions regarding operations, staffing, responsibilities, goals, etc. all made me comfortable with the prospects of joining their group.
